When in 2013 during the run up to the gubernatorial elections in Anambra state, and shopping for former Governor Peter Obi’s successor, a certain man who parted his hair and wore dark shades and chains on his neck, who was not even known in the polity surfaced, we were all happy and thought he was perform wonders.

We were rather caught up in the frenzy that we had seen a man who would key into the developmental strides of Peter Obi who laid a solid foundation for Anambra state.
Though we knew that it would be hard for anyone to equal Obi’s record in good governance, but we were consoled with the fact that even if he could do one third of what Obi did, Anambra state would still be the cynosure of all eyes.

Driven by Patriotism and the level of vision Obi had for Anambra, we set out to market the little known man.
It would have been too difficult, but with Obi’s promise that Willie will work more than him, with multitudes of his finished projects to campaign with, and the promise of continuity, it became very easy as Ndi Anambra desperately needed someone who will wear that Obi’s big shoe, even though they knew it would hardly fit perfectly, but they were ready to put in a lot of shoe pads to make it manageable.
It was like voting for Obi again for job well done.

We set out to campaign, but because PDP, LP and ACN media guys were equally strong, it became a serious battle.
Veterans like Valentine Obienyem,Apga Alaigbo Tai Emeka ObasiChukwunonso Kingsley Anajemba,Chris McCool Nwosu, Kulture Udodigbo Eneh Victor Chigozie, and very many others that I can’t list here, fought the war and won it.
I even saw a post Onyedikachukwu Anambra made during that campaign marketing Willie, Ike Onyia and others were there too.
