It has always been all about the crude oil

It’s common knowledge that Nigeria economy is dependent on crude oil, no matter every effort to diversify the economy.

While few people know about the scramble to control this goose that lays the golden egg, many Nigerians are blind to the fact.

After Buhari won elections in 2015, Ibe Kachikwu was the GMD NNPC(the company that controls the goose and its golden eggs),but he was tactically removed from there, and made a junior minister of petroleum, while Maikanti Baru was made the head of NNPC, and Buhari became the minister of petroleum.

A senior minister of petroleum who has prided himself in his fight against corruption turned blind eye to the allegation of embezzlement of 26 billion dollars.
The same man is prosecuting Dasuki for 2.1 billion dollars.

What about the promise of making the refineries work?
Buhari instead spent billions of dollars in searching for non existent oil in lake chad basin, when such money would have turned around our refineries to work in their full capacities.
They struck water instead of oil.

Kyari is the new GMD of NNPC now, and Buhari is the senior minister of petroleum yet again.
The junior minister whose powers are limited is the state minister of petroleum, and as expected hails from Niger Delta.
