The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) has said Trump was featured in “Home Alone 2” in 2014 long before he announced he was running for presidency.

The CBC explained that:

“The scene with Donald Trump was one of several that were cut from the movie as none of them were integral to the plot. These edits were done in 2014 when we first acquired the film and before Mr. Trump was elected President.”

The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation removed Trump’s cameo in the classic Christmas movie. The CBC claims it cut out the 10-second cameo in order to make room for commercials.

Viewers first noticed that the scene which shows Trump giving Macaulay Culkin directions in the then-Trump-owned Plaza Hotel was nowhere to be seen and they immediately took to social media, some voicing approval while others were irate.

Trump had earlier spoken about his feature in the movie on Tuesday while speaking with deployed members of the military, he said

“I was a little bit younger, to put it mildly… It turned out to be a very big hit, obviously. It’s a big Christmas hit, one of the biggest,” said Trump, who had just acquired the Plaza Hotel in New York, where several scenes for the 1992 film were shot.

However, with his removal from the movie by CBC, Trump reacted to this in a tweet:

So many people replying to the tweet are however happy Trump has been removed from the movie, while some felt he should be left in it. Whichever way it is, The CBC has made their decision.
