Ill Fated Ariana Jet during take off

The Boeing 737 plane, said to belong to Ariana Airlines, has come down in Ghazni province, an area controlled by the Taliban

A passenger plane carrying 83 people on board has crashed in Afghanistan, according to reports.

Locals officials say an Ariana Airlines Boeing 737-400 has come down in the country’s eastern Ghazni province.

The airline has denied that the jet – which came down in the mountainous Deh Yak district – is one of its planes.

The crash scene is an area under control of the Taliban, making it difficult for Afghan authorities to reach the site.
