43 Nigerian Ministers Donate 50% Of Salary For Covid-19

Nigerian Ministers supported the Federal Government’s efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic in the country by donating 50% of their March 2020 salaries.

Senator Gbemisola Saraki, coordinator of the donation by the 43 ministers, said it was a gesture of solidarity and support for the Federal Government’s efforts.

”This global virus outbreak will require nations, continents and smaller communities to pull together to contribute their resources and support one another.

“This will facilitate an early resolution of the problem,” Saraki said.

The Ministers commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his leadership role in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria.

President Buhari on Thursday revealed that the Federal Government has released N10 billion to Lagos State Government and N5billion to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control to aid the fight against the disease.

On Friday night, the NCDC said confirmed corona cases in Nigeria stood at 81, with one fatality and three persons discharged.

Lagos leads with 52 cases. Abuja follows with 14, Ogun 3, Oyo 3, Bauchi 2, Enugu 2.
