Breaking - Huge Inferno Hits NNPC Filling Station, Ogba

A serious fire outbreak from NNPC filling station in Ogba, Lagos has been reported to have claimed multiple houses and cars. In a video that is currently going viral on social media, the raging fire can be seen with heavy smoke.

The number of causalities from the fire accident is yet to confirmed as at the time of this report.

Eye witnesses say that the fire was as a result of an over-pressurized fuel tank that exploded when the NNPC filling station officials opened for work this afternoon.

Multiple calls have been made to the Lagos state fire service office, but there have been no responders yet. And the residents of Ogba have resorted to using bags of pure water in trying to quell the ravaging inferno before it hits a nearby cooking gas shop which might aggravate the damages of the fire.

According an eyewitness’ account:

“Me and hundreds of residents around Yaya Abatan,, College Road and environs are watching helplessly”

“I am far away yet I can feel the heat on my skin. The next compound where cars are sold is down.”

“The Car dealers tried to push a car out but they only pushed it on the road just opposite the burning petrol station.”

Also popular social media influencer, Mr Jagz took to his twitter page to call on the Lagos State Authorities to help salvage the inferno:

“NNPC fuel station on College Road is on fire. It’s a big station with a cooking gas shop also on premises and it’s surrounded by residential homes and shops. People around the area say the fire service hasn’t showed up yet.”
