Nigeria Insecure, North Backward – Buhari Loyalist, Adamu

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, Shehu Usman Adamu, has decried the spate of insecurity in Nigeria.

He also declared that the North is bedeviled with developmental challenges under President Muhammadu Buhari.

Adamu, a staunch Buhari supporter popularly known as Danfulani, spoke on the state of the nation in a video posted on his Facebook page.

The former Commissioner for Education in Kaduna said while other regions are beneficiaries of various projects, the North was being overlooked.

Adamu pointed out that road constructions in other parts of the country have been completed or almost completed.

“But the ones in the North have been abandoned, and till he (Buhari) finishes his second term, road projects in the North such as the Kano-Abuja expressway, and others may remain uncompleted,” he said.

Adamu lamented the condition of the Katsina-Kano highway despite awarded-contract for the dualization.

Noting that several roads in the North have become deplorable, Adamu told the government to fix the situation.

“Talking about railway, the line from Kano to Abuja via Kaduna is still a dream. Nothing has been done. Also, the one they promised to do from Kano, to Katsina.”

The Professor of Parasitology said though the agriculture sector has witnessed increased participation and investment. Farming is almost impossible due to insecurity in Nigeria.

Adamu decried unabated bandits’ attacks on farmers and villagers in Zamfara, Sokoto, Katsina, Kaduna and other places in the North.

He expressed dismay that bandits, “now fix the amount of money to be paid before farmers in Zamfara are allowed access to their farms. And if Northerners don’t farm, we all know what it will spell.”

“So, I am calling on you, President Buhari to come to our aid. Come and rescue those who stood by you and voted you into office. That we love you doesn’t mean we shouldn’t tell you the bitter truth when things seemed not to be working at all.”
