Wednesday, 29 July was another landmark in the political history of Oru East and indeed Imo State as members of Imo Hope For Good Governance made yet another sound political statement that echoed beyond the length and breadth of Oru East and Imo State.

Thought tagged Patron induction ceremony, it turned out as political carnival of a sort, as political heavyweights, movers and shakers of politics in Oru East and beyond gathered at the Oru East Local Government Headquarters Secretariat to showcase their solidarity to their own, the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma.

Numerous political structures in the area used the occasion to make known their intention to collapse their structures to the Imo Hope for Good Governance and other political structures of the governor.

Hon. Princess Christina Ude, the Special Adviser (SA) to the Governor on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Humanitarian Services was among the distinguished and illustrious sons and daughters of the area who were inducted patrons of the association during the event.

Responding to her induction, Ude who made financial donation to the association, promised to play her role as patron to the later. She promised to continue her unwavering support for the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma who she described as God’s special package for Imo State at an appointed time.

“This honour means a lot to me, it means that a huge responsibility has been placed in my hands to champion the good governance which Senator Hope Uzodimma stands for and which this association is promoting.

“It means that a job has been placed in my hands and it is left for me to disappoint or work to fulfill the good governance, and I will fulfill the good governance of Senator Hope Uzodimma”.

The SA made it clear to members and ‘non yet’ members of the association in the area that Hope is their own and it was incumbent on them all to support him

She advised Imolites to sit tight and watch Senator Hope Uzodimma transform the whole state, in line with his prosperity for all government, anchored on the 3Rs agenda of Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Recovery.

Hon. Princess Ude was specially celebrated among other inductees, as women members of the association, lavishly poured praises on her, using her name to compose beautiful songs during her entry and departure from venue of the event.

The state Coordinator of the Association, Hon. Pastor Chris Mbarie had while inaugurating the patrons, prayed God to grant them the grace to fulfill the demands of the position given to them as co-champions of Hope Uzodimma good governance initiative.

He stated boldly that with the organization, the governor will conquer the uncoquerables and added that if there is any Igbo man that will be the President of Nigeria in the near future, it must be Hope Uzodimma.

Other important personalities who where honoured with the position of patron included; the IMC Chair of Oru East, Hon. Nyerere Ogbonna, former Rep. of the area in Imo State House of Assembly, Hon Nkenna Nzeruo, Chief Izuchukwu Akuegbulenwa, Chief Douglas Olemeforo, Sir CDC Akubude, among others.

Highpoint of the event was the handing over of certificate of induction to the patrons and their decoration with the association’s emblem.
