The Special Adviser on Health to the Imo State Governor, Dr. Okereke Marcillina had a meeting with the Deputy Governor of Imo state yesterday in lieu of the new state Government directives on health as regards the COVID-19 pandemic and its implementation.
The courtesy visit was also used to map out new areas to strengthen the fight against COVID-19 in Imo state. They also talked about resumption of schools and the new protocols being put in place to ensure the safety of students as they write their WASSCE examinations.
The Special Adviser also noted that active community spread of COVID-19 was still ongoing in the state, stressing that the present situation requires being careful while making assurances that the Government is strongly on its feet in the fight against the spread of the virus.
