NAFDAC Approves Use Of Pfizer-BionTech COVID-19 Vaccines

The National Agency for Food, Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) on Wednesday sealed two counterfeit animal drug factories in Bichi Local Government Area of Kano State.

Shaba Muhammad, the state Coordinator of the agency, disclosed this during a raid conducted by the operatives of the agency on Wednesday in Bichi.

Muhammad said the raid was necessary after the discovery of a large quantity of the counterfeit animal drugs in circulation at Sabon Gari and other major markets in Kano metropolis.

He revealed that the agency had been trailing the producer of the fake drugs for the past six months.

The Coordinator said drugs worth over N10 million were recovered by the personnel of the agency who raided the factories on Tuesday in Bichi town.

Muhammad noted that the factories produced fake animal drugs and injections labelled with fake NAFDAC’

He added that the agency arrested one suspect, Jamilu Muhammad-Sani, who is the proprietor of the factories.

Muhammad said that the suspect would be prosecuted after investigations had been concluded by NAFDAC.

He urged the public to report suspicious activities and persons engaged in the illicit drugs trade in their communities to the relevant agencies of government to curb the circulation of counterfeit products in the state, Africa Today News, New York reports.
