Government MagicBabatunde RajI Fashola accompanied and some Southwest Governors

If you are a lover of the late afrobeat maestro Fela Kuti’s songs, many of the things happening in Nigeria today won’t surprise you, because he already sang them all.

In one of his classics, he sang about Nigeria Government and their magical powers. It was after this same army that massacred peaceful protesters killed Fela’s mother that they came up with the magic. Fela said that Nigerian Government can turn electric into candle, and they have never disappointed at all.

According to Fela, the magicians were in the mould of judicial panel of enquiry. It consisted of justices and soldiers. He itemized some of things used for the magic as rabbit and egg. In the process of the magic, they conjured some spirits, spoke in tongues and arrived at UNKNOWN SOLDIERS as the people who killed Fela’s mother, Fumilayo Ransome-Kuti.

When I saw Fashola’s discovery of hidden camera at Lekki toll gate, the site where peaceful protesters were massacred in cold blood by Buhari’s soldiers, Fela’s song resonated through my mind. It was yet another well rehearsed magic that did not require them to shout abracadabra or conjure any spirit before the camera appeared out of the blues.

I don’t know if Fashola became minister for science and technology overnight or he became so versed in ICT that he discovered the camera with ease. It was like someone who discovered the blackbox of a crashed aeroplane in a crash site. One would have expected Fashola to use the same magic wand with which he discovered the hidden camera to turn around the power sector without hassles, but We will be waiting for him to take the camera to the lab, analyze it and give us his verdict.

With Nigeria Government, and most especially Buhari’s administration, the drama never ends. From the snake that swallowed money, to the chimpanzee that stole money, and to this latest Fashola’s discovery, it’s not going to end anytime soon. We have magicians living in Aso Rock!
