Fuel Price Will Not Increase, Buhari Is A Good Listener – APC

All Progressive Congress (APC) National Executive Committee (NEC) had on Tuesday in an extraordinary meeting extended the tenure of its National Caretaker/Extraordinary National Convention Planning Committee led by Governor Mai Mala Buni by additional six months.

The highest decision-making body of the ruling party has also expelled former acting national chairman of the party, Ntufam Eta for pressing ahead with his legal case against the party.

Eta, a loyalist of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, was the National Vice Chairman, South-South in Comrade Adams Oshiomhole’s dissolved National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC. He had continued to insist that he remains acting National Chairman of the party despite the dissolution of the NWC.

Briefing State House correspondents after the meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential villa, Abuja on Tuesday, Kaduna State governor, Nasir el-Rufai, joined by his Imo and Ondo counterparts, Hope Uzodinma and Rotimi Akeredolu, respectively, explained that the tenure extension is to enable the committee to complete its assignment.

He said the six months period will enable it to make up to the time lost to the COVID-19 pandemic. The party also granted a blanket waiver for new members who may wish to contest for any elective position on its platform.

Former Governor of Edo state and the ousted Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC) Adams Oshiomhole has yesterday stated that he will decline any attempt or request to return him as the national chairman of the party.

Oshiomhole stated this in a lengthy statement he released on Monday evening, and described as ‘fake news’ reports that he has returned to court to challenge his removal as the party’s chairman.

He denied being party to any legal action challenging the dissolution of the party’s executive led by him by any of his loyalists.
