United finally made the breakthrough on 53 minutes following an own goal by Craig Pawson who flicked Scott McTominay’s strike into his own goal.

Bruno Fernandes almost doubled his side’s lead but saw his effort stopped by Fabianski.

Greenwood struck the post for a second time as United launched a lightning-fast counter-attack.

The win has now seen the red Devils consolidate their hold on the 2nd position on the log and even made their champions league chances brighter especially after London side, Chelsea dropped points at Leeds United.
