Hisbah Destroys 5,760 Alcohol Bottles In Kano

The Kano State Hisbah Board has revealed that it confiscated 5,760 bottles of beer in the State on Thursday.

The moral police made this known in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Lawan Ibrahim-Fagge which was sighted by Africa Today News, New York.

He revealed that the seizure happened at Kano/Madobi road.

The statement quoted the Commander­­-General of the board, Dr Harun Muhammad Sani Ibn-Sina who noted that a good samaritan informed the board about the vehicle bringing beer into the city.

Dr Haram narrated that after the tip-off, operatives of the board began investigation and the necessary action was carried out.

The commander further stated that Hisbah would continue its fight against proliferation of drugs and other intoxicating substances in the state.

Also, the statement noted that after a raid by the board, over 100 youths male and female were picked at Abdullahi Bayero Road and Zoo Road.

The commander said that the arrested youths included a 15-year-old girl.

They were arrested while smoking shisha mixed with Indian hemp and using other hard drugs at some eateries and other recreational centres in the two areas.
