Birds Attack Lagos-Bound Air Peace Flight

There was mild pandemonium on Monday as an Air Peace flight P47159 Owerri to Lagos had a bird strike just a few minutes after take-off.

Head of Communications, Stanley Olisa confirmed the incident in a statement which was obtained by Africa Today News, New York.

According to the spokesman, one of the parameters of one of the engines was seriously affected by the attack.

The pilot diverted to Port-Harcourt, safely landed the aircraft and the passengers disembarked.

‘We have dispatched a rescue team and aircraft to airlift the passengers of the affected flight’, Olisa noted.

The statement also assured of the airline’s commitment to the highest standards of safety.
