Literary genius and renowned New York-based Publisher and Social Critic, Dr. MarkAnthony Nze is not new to the world of conscious readers, the creative maestro has paid his dues in creative writing and publishing. Recently, one of his many outfits, Africa Today News, New York celebrated its third year anniversary, as if that was not enough, a leading newspaper in Nigeria, The Guardian gave one of his many books – Gang of Looters a 5-star rating, nature rewards hard work, and it is self-evident in his life.

Ever since Dr. Nze gave his readers the gift of the ‘Gang of Looters’ some time ago, the accolades have never ceased to pour in. Gang of Looters gave Dr. Nze a timely opportunity to interrogate the maladies in Nigeria particularly, and Africa generally. In that thrilling political fiction, the ace writer brought to bear his profound writing style to mesmerize his readers, little wonder why his latest ‘The Street Hustler’ is already following the same glorious path. The book generally talks about the dirty politics of a supposedly African country.

In a 5-Star rated political fiction, Dr. Nze creatively narrated the political dirty games simultaneously perpetrated in an oil-rich African country that was being held to ransom by a political mafia group commandeered by the chieftain of a leading political party. Kulala Bodega, the Governor of Endassa pushed from being a beloved Governor to the gang to being sent into an exile as the battle to save the soul of the State and country just to bring the economy and people of his State out of the evil shadow of the ‘Gang of Looters’ which raged on.

The highly entertaining yet expository and mind-numbing piece of artwork gives a perfect insight into what happens in Africa and why the resource-laden continent has remained in the lowest echelon of development and progress in the world. It gives a lay man some priceless first-hand details of what happens when egoistic and self-serving leaders go head to head in leadership circles. It gives a much more vital insight as to how supposed leaders circumvent people’s will without remorse, ride on their lacerated backs for power without regrets and shamelessly sit on their aspirations without pity in Africa.

Just like the people of Endassa, Nigerians today need some form of messianic redemption. The country might not have so many Kulala Bodegas, however, help can only come when the people of the country start yearning for one and show unrivaled tenacity and determination to take their country back from the ‘Gang of Looters’. The Guardian was spot on with their ratings, the book was timely, visionary, and priceless!!!
